About MeHey there, thanks for stopping by...
We all have a story to tell…
It’s my honour to share mine with you.
Growing up, I was fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to travel extensively around the world and in fact have lived in three different continents. Experiencing different cultures early on provided me with the unique advantage to relate to a wide variety of people from various backgrounds and steps of life. This experience really shaped who I am today and helped me to develop a keen interest in people in general; how they operate, what makes them tick and what keeps them going.
While excitement and world travel provided me with the curiosity and drive to succeed, the same can be said for my personal struggles. They say that the true essence of life isn’t where it takes you but what you do with it when you are there — and I have certainly had my share of those.
In 2002, my marriage ended and I found myself as a single Mom with 2 young boys (both ADHD, I might add). I went from a successful career in the publishing industry and IBM – to taking a series of part-time, temporary jobs in order to have flexibility to parent my boys.
Over the next few years, I grew increasingly more unhappy and unfulfilled with who I was becoming. The spark was gone. The dreams were fading. My soul was dying inside.
But I was tough, resilient and was not about to give up. Not for me, and certainly not for my boys.
Instead of shrivelling up, I read books, attended personal development courses, went to networking events — and asked myself some very tough questions. Who am I? What do I want to do with my life?
While the search gave me lots of insights about who I was and what made me tick, there was not a single A-HA moment. I got to a point where I realized that I had to take some action to move forward, even without having all the answers. That was my leap of faith.
Despite my strong business background, I launched Positive Fabulous Women in January of 2008 with no business plan, very little market research and minimal financial investment. The interesting thing is that up to that point I’d never worked with women. I’d never coached or spoken in public. Never hosted an event. But I was not going to let anything stop me now. What I lacked in skill I made up for with passion and determination. It was my time to shine — and nothing was going to stop me now!
Well I’m proud to say that as of today, I have hosted over 350 events – and have a personal network of over 15000 people. and have been invited to speak and share my story with others on stage and on camera, both locally and nationally.
The journey hasn’t always been easy, but one that has been incredibly rewarding and fulfilling on so many levels. I wake up everyday knowing that I am living my life’s purpose, while making a difference in the lives of others. There’s no feeling like it in the world.
I would love to support you on your journey, so that you too can show up, connect and shine. Together, we can change the world.
